What is sustainable development?
"…development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs," from the Brundtland Report (known as Our Common Future), published in 1987.
Showing concern for the future
Specifically, making a formal commitment to sustainable development raises awareness of the social, economic and environmental impacts of a business. Among other things, this commitment implies a reasonable use of natural resources, an ability to contribute to economic development in the region where the business operates, fair treatment of employees, and a guarantee of quality and safety to clients and suppliers alike.
At Laserson, actions speak louder than words
Convinced that people at every level can make a difference, Laserson has decided to roll out a sustainable development policy under the leadership of Muriel Oudinet. We have been selected to participate in a nationwide pilot project on the SD 21000 guide involving a panel of businesses in each region of France. Set up by AFNOR, the aim of this experiment is to test the degree to which Sustainable Development objectives are integrated into the management system of the business.
