Natural hydrocolloids allow the formulation of light, transparent and elegant textures whilst complying with the requirements of eco-organic products. Cargill offers various combinations of thickening and gelling agents capable of enriching the sensorial palette of natural formulations.
Excellent results are obtained with a combination of Satiaxane™ CX 930 (INCI: Xanthan gum, thickening and suspension agent) and Satiagel™ CT 52 (INCI: Carrageenan, gelling agent) when experimenting with transparency within remarkable gels. The considerable stability, which allows particles to be suspended, is another interesting feature of this combination. The Gentle Exfoliating Gel developed by our applications laboratory clearly portrays the qualities of this xanthan-carrageenan combination: this foaming gel has a transparent texture enriched by exfoliating beads to emphasise the visual effect and facilitate effective, gentle exfoliation.
Does the creation of a transparent coloured serum seem well nigh impossible? Satiagel™ CT 52 and Satiaxane™ CX 930 is the perfect combination for a supple texture with no syneresis. Both hydrocolloids are the secret ingredient in the Purifying Serum – a coloured, transparent, gel application formula especially formulated for oily skin (Ichimaru Pharcos active substances: Eijitsu Liquid E, Oubaku Liquid E and Shiso Liquid).
The development of Cargill hydrocolloids is straightforward. In a powder format, simply prepare a pre-mixture with other dry ingredients before including them in a non-solvent medium such as glycerine. Then add the aqueous phase with stirring. The various combinations ensure optimal efficacy in use at a low concentration.
