The new standard “COSMOS” (a contraction of “COSMetic Organic Standard”) was released on 20 May 2009. Shared by the organisations BDIH (Germany), BIOFORUM (Belgium), COSMEBIO and ECOCERT (France), ICEA (Italy) and SOIL ASSOCIATION (UK), this standard is ultimately intended as a permanent replacement for each of the six organisations’ individual standards.

Cosmetics manufacturers will have three years to update already-certified formulas to meet the COSMOS standard.

Laserson has a vast portfolio of raw materials that can be used to formulate eco-labelled products. We are currently working with our suppliers to renew existing certificates in accordance with COSMOS.
